Abstract
Highlights
- Over the last 5 decades, CVD have been the leading cause of death in Brazil.
- Brazil has faced challenges to reassure an efficient health system for preventing CVD and for overcoming existing barriers to reduce CVD burden.
- Proposals to address those barriers were presented by the World Heart Federation in 2015 through the Roadmaps to achieve 25% CVD mortality by 2025.
- Implementation of the World Heart Federation Roadmaps has been already launched in Brazil by means of a comprehensive coalition including medical societies, civil society, private stakeholders, and government.
