ANA OLGA MOCUMBI, MD PHD FESC
Professor Mocumbi is Associate Professor of Cardiology at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane and Head of the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Division National Public Health Institute, both in Mozambique. She is also an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington, USA, at the Department of Global Health. Her career focuses on poverty-related NCD and aims at improving care provision and research into neglected cardiovascular diseases, spanning from clinical research to education and health management. She is actively involved in post-graduate training of researchers with projects into NCD and their determinants. Professor Mocumbi is currently the leader of the Taskforce for Reproductive Health Services for Women with Cardiovascular Diseases at the Pan African Society of Cardiology, Co-Chair of the Working Group on Rheumatic Heart Disease Prevention and Control at the World Heart Federation, and Co-Chair of The Lancet Global Commission on Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries of the Poorest Billion.
